How this wall changed my life
I recently returned from
a trip to Poland with a group of my students as part of a
course on the Holocaust. I've been to Poland a number of times and
visited many concentration and death camps, but this was my first
visit to the site of the Warsaw Ghetto, where one of the most
gripping stories of Jewish resistance unfolded. In 1982 the story of
the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising shocked my understanding of history and
propelled me in a new direction. I would like to tell you more about
